I once helped my Dad research our family tree. Life certainly happened before contraception! We found one great-great-grandmother of ours who had children over a 28 year span - from age 18 to age 46!
And she was far from the only one having children over 40 back then.

I gave birth to twins last year, using in vitro fertilisation, at the age of 47. The pregnancy went well, I had a natural birth, and I’ve survived and enjoyed the first year.
Being older, you’ve generally done what you want to do, and are more content. So age doesn’t really matter - one can die young or old.
